The National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation present the Poetry Out Loud (POL): National Recitation Contest, in partnership with the California Arts council and the Modoc County Arts Council.

Poetry Out loud is a program that encourages high school students to learn about great poetry through memorization, performance, and competition. 

This program is a wonderful opportunity for teachers and students, and is very valuable for confidence, poise, and appreciation of the arts.

2025 POL Winner

Poetry Out Loud

This annual event is one of most beloved and anticipated events of the year. Our 2025 production of Pinocchio was a huge success with 62 students from Modoc County participating. This program is a wonderful opportunity for our youth to get experience in working together in the performing arts, gaining valuable life skills.
